Coconut Lavender Moisturizer

With just 2 ingredients, and a 1 oz /(30ml) jar, making this recipe is as easy as 1-2-3!

Coconut oil for your skin? Absolutely! Coconut oil is loaded with saturated fats, giving your skin a more healthy and smooth tone.

Coconut oil also helps your skin stay moisturized, and according to Dr. Axe, has the ability “penetrate your skin on a deeper level than your average product because of its low molecular weight and the way it bonds with proteins.

Next we have Lavender, one of the most versatile, and widely used essential oil throughout the world, and with good reason. Lavender has powerful antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, moisturizing abilities, and is one of the few oils that are gentle enough to apply directly on your skin.

Today’s recipe comes courtesy of Andre Butje, at Aromahead Institute

Coconut Lavender Moisturizer

1 oz (28 g) coconut oil (Cocos nucifera)

12 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)

You can make this blend in a 1 oz (30 ml) jar. Just put the coconut oil into the jar, and use your finger or the handle of a stainless steel spoon to make a little depression in the coconut oil. (This is assuming that your coconut oil is solid. Coconut oil becomes a liquid if the room temperature where it’s stored is warm enough.) Add the 12 drops of Lavender essential oil into the little depression, and mush it all together gently with the handle of your spoon.

A little of this moisturizer goes a long way. Just a bit of it on your fingertip can be enough to smooth over your whole arm!
