Aromatherapy Spring Cleaning: It’s A Party And You’re Invited

With Spring in the air and the sun shining brighter, my thoughts have now turned to Spring Cleaning.

I love the way the fresh and clean feeling inspires me to open my windows… out with the dreary feeling of winter, and in with the wonderful scents and sounds of the outside.

Now as excited as I may sound about Spring Cleaning, I have to be honest when I say that many times my plan has not always worked out as efficiently or smoothly as I would have liked.

My goal is usually to have it completed by the end of the month, but for some reason I always seem to end up a little off course.

I decided that this year was going to be different, so I set out to find the best and most efficient method for getting the job done in 30 days, and I am happy to say that I think I have found the perfect 30 Day Spring Cleaning Plan, adapted from Pop Sugar.

I’m looking forward to breaking down the tasks into smaller ones and making it more manageable, and I hope you will join me beginning today in the 30 Day Spring Cleaning Plan.

Don’t worry if you missed starting on day one, you can begin at any time, follow the plan for your schedule and you’ll still end up completing it in 30 days.

I will also be providing some Spring Cleaning Recipes including essential oils. If you’ve never cleaned using essential oils I think you may be pleasantly surprised at how versatile they can be as well as a great alternative to avoid being exposed to the harsh chemicals found in many store-bought cleaning products.

So let’s get this party started… in the kitchen!  You can print the complete 30 Spring Cleaning Plan here.

Natural Oven Cleaner Recipe from Beth K at www.recipeswithessentialoils

3/4 cup baking soda
15 drops Orange Essential Oil
15 drops Pine Essential Oil
10 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
3 – 5 tablespoons water

Make sure that your oven is completely cool before beginning.
In a small bowl, add baking soda and essential oils.
Stir in 3 tablespoons of water. Stir until well mixed and a thick paste is formed. If there is any baking soda still dry and clumpy, you can add a few more teaspoons of water at a time while stirring.
Use a damp sponge or cloth to apply the paste over the oven area. Let this sit for 5 minutes.
Using the same sponge, gently scrub the paste in a circular motion. You’ll probably want to rinse your cloth often to get rid of any residue or baked on grease as it comes off.
When all the baked on dirt is out, use a clean, damp cloth to do a final wipe removing any paste from corners and edges where it might have gotten trapped.

This amount in the recipe was enough to clean my entire oven. You can always make another batch if you need a little more.

Until Next Time…
