Spring Cleaning Challenge: The Bathroom

photo via lowes

Today our Spring Cleaning Challenge finds us in the bathroom, one of the more challenging rooms to keep clean and fresh, especially for those of us who have children.

If you have more than one bathroom, try focusing on the one that gets the most use first, then move on to the others.

The bathroom as we all know does require a little more cleaning and sanitizing than any other room in the house, but before you begin be sure you declutter the room of any dirty laundry and garbage, and take down and wash your shower curtain and liner if you have one.

Grab your rubber gloves and your favorite green cleaning products, turn up the music and let’s get started!

I’ve also included one of my all time favorite Toilet Freshener recipes from Andrea Butje at Aromahead Aromatherapy. Let me know what you think!

Days 9 through 12 ~ The Bathroom

Day  9 – Clean medicine cabinet and storage

Day 10 – Trash expired items, and declutter

Day 11 – Clean shower, tub, and walls

Day 12 – Clean toilet, bathroom surface areas, mirror, and floor

Toilet Freshener

After you clean your toilet, you can use this spray to keep it smelling fresh and reduce germ growth. You can just keep your little bottle of spray on the back of your toilet, or on the bathroom sink, and spritz it in the toilet bowl after every flush.
1 oz (30 ml) water
5 drops Tea Tree essential oil
(Melaleuca alternifolia)
10 drops Lemon essential oil
(Citrus limon)
5 drops Sweet Orange
(Citrus sinensis)

Until Next Time…
