Spring Cleaning Challenge Continues With…The Bedroom(s)

It’s hard for me to believe that we’re almost halfway through the month of April, and our Spring Cleaning Challenge.

For the next five days we are going to be in the bedroom(s). For this part of the challenge I find it helpful to involve the whole family, especially when it comes to the children picking up and decluttering their own rooms.

Before you begin it’s best to: remove anything that doesn’t belong in your room, pick out any decorations, blankets, or anything you no longer want to keep, and be sure to throw out any trash.

I’ve also included one of my most requested Linen Spray recipes (courtesy of Andrea Butje from Aromahead).

Days 13 through 12 ~ The Bedroom(s)

Day 13 – Clean mirrors, windows, blinds, and curtains

Day 14 – Organize closet and drawers, and declutter

Day 15 – Deep clean mattress, and wash pillows, linen, and comforter

Day 16 – Vacuum, mop, or sweep floor; clean under furniture

Day 17 – Clean furniture, walls, and fixtures

This favorite recipe is really a multi-tasker. The wonderful scent and relaxing qualities of the essential oils help keep your sheets and pillows fresh, is great for immune support, and helps to insure you and your family get a restful night’s sleep.

Linen Spray  – In a 2oz. (60ml) spray bottle combine:
2 oz. (60 ml) Vetiver Hydrosol
5 drops Vetiver Essential Oil  (Vetiveria zizanoides)
3 drops Orange Essential Oil  (Citrus sinensis)
5 drops Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)

Andrea also recommends making this product fresh every few weeks, as it does not have a preservative in it.
